What exactly does Odyssey collect?
The minimum needed to run your adventure: your email and your first name, your runs (distance, pace, GPS route, heart rate if you have a sensor), and what you choose to declare — height, weight, injuries — to fine-tune your coaching. Everything else is optional, photo included.
Who can see my run routes?
You decide. By default, your exact route belongs to you alone — what your crew or club sees of a shared run is the summary: distance, pace, duration. And if one day you choose to publish a map, it will always be an explicit choice, run by run.
What about my everyday location?
Your phone itself converts your location into a neighborhood and city ("Batignolles, Paris") before anything is sent — your precise GPS coordinates outside of runs never leave your device.
What do you read from Apple Health?
Your running workouts and your daily steps, to credit your XP — and only finalized totals: the raw Apple Health samples stay on your iPhone. Odyssey writes your runs back to it, and you control every permission in your iOS settings.
The coach and the Oracle use AI. What does it see?
The bare minimum needed to answer you: your first name, your current plan and the summaries of your latest runs (distance, pace, perceived effort). Never your email, your location, nor your photos. Our AI partners do not train their models on your conversations.
Do you sell my data?
No. Never, to anyone. No ad network, no data broker, no advertising tracking SDK in the app — you can check: the app contains no ads at all. Odyssey lives on its subscriptions, not on your data.
My messages in crews and with the coach?
They are stored so you can find your conversations again, transmitted through specialized, secure services, and never analyzed for advertising purposes. You can report content, block a member — and deleting your account makes them inaccessible.
How is my data protected?
Everything travels over encrypted HTTPS. Your password is hashed — unreadable, even to us. Your sessions live in your phone's vault (iOS Keychain). And admin access is protected by two-factor authentication.
Where is my data hosted?
Today, in the United States (Virginia), with our hosting provider, under the EU-US data protection framework. We are preparing to bring them home to Europe — this page will be updated as soon as the migration is complete. That is a promise, not a footnote.
I want to get everything back, or erase everything. How?
Get it back: from the app's settings, request your export — a complete file is sent to you by email. Erase it: Settings → Delete my account — your profile is anonymized immediately (email, name, photo, city erased). For any question about your data: support@runodyssey.com.
